Reduce Na Bicarb tablets to 1g tid \nIt was fovely to meet with Patricia Hunt at my general nephrology clinic on the 15\" of December, | \nthought she was looking well considering that she had been profoundly unwell with urinary sepsis in \nNovember of this year. \nAs a result of that inpatient stay, she has also been commenced upon intravenous iron and \nErythropoietin Stimulating Agent to treat anaemia. \nShe was discharged on Sodium Bicarbonate 2gms TID and she has still been taking her Potassium Citrate \n10mis daily as well. Her biochemistry today is fairly stable with an eGFR of 23, potassium of 4.9 and \nbicarbonate of 25, Her anaemia is a little better with haemoglobin rising to 96. ' \nReviewing previous results, it looks as though Patricia has not had her urinary calcium checked to see \nwhether or not she has got hypocalcuria. We will check this at the next clinic appointment as if that is \npresent, | would prefer her not to be on Sodium Bicarbonate as this may increase her stone forming risk. \nIn the meantime given that her bicarbonate are so satisfactory | think we could certainly reduce the \nSodium Bicarbonate dose from 2 to Igm TID (with a possibility of stopping it altogether and continuing \nwith the Potassium
