COPD \n2. Cigarette smoking \n3. Chest tightness \nThank you for referring this 66 year old man to the chest clinic. He says he is short of breath on walking \nup a flight of stairs and has found swimming difficult because of shortness of breath recently. Apart from \nthat he is generally quite active and he still works as a graphic designer with woodwork and metalwork. \nHe also complains of non specific tightness of the chest. He also feels he can be wheeze at night time. \nHe has a cough which does not produce much sputum and is generally clear with no haemoptysis. \nHe says hi appetite is okay and his chest is stable. He mentions infections in the chest which occur a \ncouple of times a day and are mainly manifest by his chest pain getting worse but not much change in \nhis cough. He has a history of COPD and currently takes Fostair, Spiriva and Carbocisteine. He has no \nknown drug allergies. He continues to smoke around 12 grams of tobacco per week and has smoked \nfor over 50 years. He takes no alcohol. He has never worked in the shipyards but was a spray painter \nwith isocyanate sprays. He thinks there may have been a bhit of asbestos exposure when he was a \nteenager.
