Thank \nyou for taking time to read this. \nWhat is the purpose of this study? \nHeart disease remains a major cause of illness and death in the UK. The fats found \nin oily fish and fish oil capsules (variously known as omega-3 or long-chain \npolyunsaturated fatty acids - PUFA) have been repeatedly demonstrated to have a \nbeneficial effect on heart health. An increased intake has been shown to reduce \nblood fats, to lower blood pressure, to reduce the risk of the formation of large \nblood clots (ie to \u201cthin the blood\u201d), and to improve the
